ICREEM at NYU Shanghai and ECNU Explore Collaboration in Real Estate and Urban Development

ECNU faculty highlighted the university's research strengths in regional economics, land resource management, public policy, and tourism real estate.

NYU Institute for Cities and Real Estate in Emerging Markets at NYU Shanghai (ICREEM) visited East China Normal University (ECNU) to discuss collaboration in real estate and urban development research. ECNU faculty from the School of Public Administration and the Department of Tourism Management welcomed the delegation, with both sides expressing interest in deepening  cooperation.

During the visit, Professor Aleksandar Stojanović, Director of ICREEM, outlined the institute's research focus on urban development, REITs, sustainability, and innovation in emerging markets. Bo Gu, Head of Strategy Partnership and Innovation at ICREEM, detailed its efforts in talent cultivation, event organization, and building a knowledge-sharing ecosystem connecting academia, industry, and policymakers.

ECNU faculty highlighted the university's research strengths in regional economics, land resource management, public policy, and tourism real estate. Key researchers include Professor Long Shengping, Professor Huang Zhonghua, Associate Professor Hu Jinxing and Associate Professor Wang Sheng.

Both institutions explored collaboration opportunities, such as joint talent cultivation, co-developed courses, and shared research. They also discussed jointly releasing industry reports or indices and expanding cooperation into Southeast Asian emerging markets. The meeting reinforced the strategic partnership between NYU Shanghai and ECNU and outlined a future roadmap for collaboration in urban and real estate research, education, and global engagement.
